Applied responsible-AI centre running projects across four programmes: AI for the Environment, AI for Global Health, Data for AI, and Governance and Human Rights. The Governance and Human Rights programme describes itself as supporting "an effective, responsive, flexible and human rights-sensitive AI governance framework" and "finding ways to address the negative impacts of AI systems while maximizing their benefits"; its projects are AI and democracy, algorithmic transparency, regulatory interoperability, privacy-enhancing technologies, procurement sandboxes and gender equality. Built around the OECD Principles on Artificial Intelligence; hosts the Montréal hub of the GPAI Network of Centres.
