PauseAI Canada
Canadian national chapter of the PauseAI movement: public advocacy for a pause on frontier AI development and for an international treaty, framed explicitly around existential and loss-of-control risk. Runs a bilingual EN/FR organizing platform with a stance questionnaire, a learning path and an "Email your MP" tool, plus a "Warning Shot Protocol" issue page arguing that Canada has no law requiring an independent safety assessment before a frontier AI system is built or deployed. Monthly Canada-wide video call and a continuous Montréal in-person programme: demonstrations, flyering, movie nights, coworking and Canadian-policy sessions.
