The AI Safety Foundation (AISF)
Registered Canadian charity that "increases awareness and scientific understanding of the catastrophic risks of AI, by advancing education and research". Runs three named programmes: the Hinton Lectures (annual three-night series in Toronto convened by Geoffrey Hinton, 9-11 November 2026), the CJF-Hinton Award for Excellence in AI Safety Reporting (a "$10,000 annual award, presented with the Canadian Journalism Foundation"), and AI Safety Week (Toronto, 9-13 November 2026, "Public conversations, working sessions and three evenings with Geoffrey Hinton"). Convening and public understanding rather than in-house research.
